Kelvin Flynn

Managing Director

Kelvin Flynn is the Managing Director of Harvis, responsible for the origination, identification, structuring and management of investment opportunities and the firm’s strategic direction.

With a career spanning 29 years, Kelvin returned from Asia in 2009 to establish a leading Australian specialist alternative funds manager and advisory firm Harvis. Harvis focuses on key investment themes within real estate, agriculture and infrastructure in Western Australia and deploying capital in these sectors through a combination of structured finance, senior lending and equity investment.

In 2017 Kelvin was appointed by global private equity firm Blackstone to formulate and implement a turnaround of National Lifestyle Villages (NLV), a leading provider of affordable housing for seniors. Kelvin was appointed as Acting CEO in October 2017 and the successful turnaround of the business resulted in a sale to GIC backed Serenitas in mid-2018.

Kelvin has a successful track record of lending and investing significant debt and equity capital in distressed and special situations and, prior to that, acting as an interim manager and adviser to multinational corporations and their stakeholders in complex workouts and restructurings across the Asia Pacific region.

Kelvin held the role of Executive Director / Vice President with the Asian Special Situations Group of Goldman Sachs, part of a proprietary balance sheet investing arm with over US$4 billion under management. Prior to that, Kelvin was Managing Director of Alvarez & Marsal in Asia, a leading global advisor in performance improvement, turnaround management and business advisory.

Kelvin was an Executive Director and Partner with Ferrier Hodgson, then Australia’s leading insolvency and restructuring firm, based in Hong Kong, Malaysia and Perth.

Kelvin is a director of ASX listed Mineral Resources Limited, Silver Lake Resources Limited, private equity owned Flinders Dairy Group and Global Advanced Metals.

Kelvin has a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Finance) from the University of Western Australia, is a Chartered Accountant and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
